Neutral Roles
🎲 What are Neutral Roles?
Section titled “🎲 What are Neutral Roles?”Neutral roles are not aligned with Crewmates or Impostors.
They operate independently and have unique objectives, which can range from survival to chaos. Make sure to read the role descriptions for neutral roles carefully.
🏆 Win Conditions
Section titled “🏆 Win Conditions”Each neutral role has its own condition for winning.
Most common win conditions include:
- Survive until the end of the game.
- Be killed under specific circumstances.
- Win if a certain team/role loses.
- Be the last player alive
- Cause confusion or sabotage both teams.
⚙ Shared Traits
Section titled “⚙ Shared Traits”- Neutral roles usually don’t appear in team-based win/loss screens, because most win alone.
- They may or may not be revealed on death.
- Neutral roles are optional and configurable by the host.
- Most neutral roles are hidden and hard to detect without knowledge.
🔧 Customization Tips
Section titled “🔧 Customization Tips”- Some neutral roles may need to be disabled for competitive lobbies.
- Balance using settings like “Max Neutrals,” “Chance of Jester,” etc.
- Most neutral roles require you to change their individual settings to make them work well in your game.
- You can combine multiple neutrals for chaotic games, but use sparingly.
🍬 What are the kinds of Neutral Roles?
Section titled “🍬 What are the kinds of Neutral Roles?”Neutral roles have 4 Alignments, each with their own unique gimmicks and win conditions! These alignments are:
😶🌫️ Neutral Benign
Section titled “😶🌫️ Neutral Benign”- Neutral Benign roles do not affect the winning of other teams, and usually have minimal effect on the game’s course.
- Neutral Benign roles mostly win with the winning team, instead of winning alone.
🔪 Neutral Killing
Section titled “🔪 Neutral Killing”- Neutral Killing roles have the ability to kill! Scary! They are lone killers with no teammates, with some exceptions.
- Neutral Killing roles almost always win alone by being the last person standing.
😈 Neutral Evil
Section titled “😈 Neutral Evil”- Neutral Evil roles cannot kill, but are powerful in their own ways, and can have a drastic effect on the game.
- Neutral Evil roles always win alone.
🐍 Neutral Pariah
Section titled “🐍 Neutral Pariah”- Neutral Pariah roles absolutely despise the crew! Their abilities mostly focus on hindering the crew’s ability to win.
- Unsurprisingly, all Neutral Pariah roles win with the winning team as long as the Crewmates lose.
Amnesiac Copy the roles of dead bodies!
Backstabber The Backstabber kills a player to decide what team they win with.
Dealer The Dealer must give players addons to win.
Follower The Follower can choose a target to win with them.
Hater The Hater can only kill recruiters or loving players, but has no kill cooldown.
Impartial Must kill a certain amount of players from each team.
Investor The Investor can mark players to win.
Lawyer The Lawyer gets a client and wins with them.
Maverick Must survive and kill the required amount of players.
Necro-Guesser Can guess the roles of dead players.
Opportunist Must survive till the end of the game.
Pawn The Pawn must finish their tasks then choose a new role.
Postman The Postman must deliver mail to players to win.
Predator The Predator has to kill 1 of their prey.
Pursuer The Pursuer can cause someone's kill to fail.
Provocateur The Provocatuer can kill one person per game to win if that person loses.
Revolutionist The Revolutionist can recruit players to win with them.
Room Rusher The Room Rusher must get to enough rooms before the timer expires.
Schrödinger's Cat The Schrödinger's Cat takes on their attacker's role.
Romantic The Romantic can choose a partner to win with them.
Shifter The Shifter may shift with their target to swap roles.
Soul Hunter The Soul Hunter must collect souls to win at the end of the game.
Specter The Specter must die and finish their tasks to win.
Tank The Tank must vent in every vent on the map to win.
Technician The Technician must fix sabotages to satisfy their win condition.
Arsonist The Arsonist can douse everyone to set them ablaze.
Collector The Collector must collect enough votes to win.
Gaslighter The Gaslighter has multiple abilities that vary per round.
Doomsayer The Doomsayer has to guess 3 players roles to win.
Executioner The Executioner is a neutral evil role. Their goal is to eject their target.
God The God knows the roles of all players and must survive till the end of the game to win.
Innocent The Innocent frames others for their death.
Jester The Jester's goal is to get themselves ejected to win.
Thief The Thief can kill a player to take on their role.
Terrorist The Terrorist must finish their tasks, THEN die.
Vector The Vector must vent a certain number of times to win.
Vulture The Vulture must eat enough bodies to win.
Workaholic The Workaholic must finish their tasks to win.
Auditor The Auditor may audit or smokebomb others.
Clerk The Clerk can collect tax from crewmates.
Curser The Curser may curse a player with a debuff.
Magistrate The Magistrate may call court once per game.
Seamstress The Seamstress may link 2 players with their thread.
Spirit The Spirit may candle-swap 2 players.
Starspawn The Starspawn may call daybreak to stop meeting abilities.
Ruthless Romantic The Ruthless Romantic must kill everyone to avenge its partner.
Vengeful Romantic The Vengeful Romantic has one shot to avenge its fallen partner.
